The settlement is situated in the south-west of Rábaköz, on the northern side of the main road No. 86. The river Kis-Rába (Small Rába) flows through the village. It was first mentioned in records in 1230. A typical building of the main street is the Barthodeiszky mansion, which was built at the end of the 19th century according to plans by Schöne, a German architect. The building was completed in 1890. The fishing association of the village has a more than 10 ha water surface, which draws anglers from abroad, too. The surroundings of the village offer possibilities for horse riding tours.
