The settlement has about 1200 inhabitants and is located 16 km eastern from Sárvár. This area has been inhabited during the era of the Arpads. The name Cald was first mentioned in 1255 in documents. It worth seeing the Roman Catholic church of late baroque style, the castle of the family Káldy and the family Maróthy.
